My Favorite Omega Granola Recipe

It’s summer, which means I have more time at home with my family. I love trying new recipes and switching gears to full-time mom and wife.  My favorite granola recipe contains omegas for skin health and local honey to reduce seasonal allergies. Using local honey exposes yourself to tiny amounts of the pollen that you are allergic to, and your immune system becomes less sensitive to the allergen.

Omega Granola

Dry Ingredients
3 c. Whole Oats
1/3 c. Whole Raw Almonds
1/3 c. unsalted Sunflower Seeds
1/3 c. Flax Seeds
1/2 tsp. Sea salt
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. All Spice
1/4 c. Dried Bing Cherries

Liquid Ingredients
1/4 c. Local Honey
1/4 c. Pure Organic Maple Syrup
1/2 tsp. Vanilla


Omega Granola Parfait

-Preheat oven 350 and mix all dried goods in a bowl.
-Heat honey, vanilla and maple syrup in a sauce pan.
-Mix heated mixture and dried goods together and spread on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
-Bake for 10 minutes, stir and bake for another 10 minutes.
-Cool the mixture and add cherries!

Take the granola mixture on the go, or add fruit and your favorite base, such as Kefir, Hemp Milk or even a smoothie! Remember beautiful skin is a result of a healthy spirit, body and mind!
