Product Review (submitted on February 24, 2014):
Wonderful, especially with patience & realism!
Bottom line, I think it's a really good acne treatment product, especially with its lotion feel/texture. I truly believe it can help acne on any skin type (dry, combination, oily, normal, sensitive, etc.), especially with a willingness to experiment on frequency & quantity used if the results over a reasonable duration are unsatisfactory!! While we all dream of those miracle products with instant, drastic results, this product requires more realistic expectations in my experience.
When1st looking into Kate Somerville, my primary concerns were dryness & preemptive anti-aging. Acne was more of an underlying issue. To cover my bases, I got the Anti Bac Lotion along w/ the following: Gentle Cleanser, ExfoliKate, Discoloration Perfector, an anti-aging moisturizer, & the sunscreen. Not long after, I began chemotherapy, quickly altering my hormones & skin. As dryness still outweighed acne concerns, I used the Anti Bac Lotion sparingly--ltd. to trouble areas 2-3/wk. My skin's overall condition & appearance improved; exactly which product(s) helped what issue(s) most was unclear.
Since completing chemo a few months ago, my skin type/issues changed again, & much for the worse. I broke out significantly along my jawline, neck, cheeks, temples, forehead w/ each area presenting different types of acne (including a couple types I'd never suffered before)! As a result, I've begun trying the Anti Bac Lotion more often & in greater portions. While helping some, I've decided my needs need reassessment & other Kate Somerville products may be a better fit--at least for now. (However, I wanted to include that I'm positive ExfoliKate, the sunscreen & this product, the Anti Bac Lotion, will still be go-to's!)
